Position Overview:
We are in search of a Facilities and Asset Manager to oversee the daily operations of properties on behalf of the South Australian Government. The public assets managed include, but are not limited to, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, judicial buildings, and law enforcement centers, along with various other public infrastructures. This role encompasses responsibilities for managing maintenance, addressing breakdowns, and overseeing small-scale projects. The position is regional, covering sites in designated areas with flexible office location options.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and assess risks and opportunities related to maintenance and capital projects, formulating and executing strategies to meet financial objectives and optimize the lifecycle costs of facilities and assets.
- Assist in the execution of the Property Asset Management team's strategic Asset Business Plans and other asset planning initiatives.
- Evaluate routine maintenance requests and reactive service calls to inform asset maintenance strategies and preventative schedules.
- Serve as the primary contact for technical inquiries, facilities management, and asset maintenance issues.
- Oversee contractor performance, ensuring compliance with budgetary and project scope requirements.
- Support contract adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Participate in audits and inspections.
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with government agencies, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.
- Assist in monitoring and reporting on the performance of subcontracted service providers.
- Ensure effective record management and reporting to track subcontractor performance on-site.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience in navigating complex stakeholder environments is essential.
A minimum of 3 years in facilities management or 5 years in a trade, building, or commercial real estate background is required.
A comprehensive understanding of corporate real estate or facilities management is necessary.
Ability to perform under pressure in intricate environments is crucial.
A trade background is not mandatory, but candidates must demonstrate proficiency in property maintenance and management.
Project management certification or relevant industry experience is preferred.
A valid driver's license is required.
