VPS4 Payments Officer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Payments Officer to join our team at Hudson Australia. As a Payments Officer, you will play a critical role in the coordination and approval of financial assistance payments, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in our payment processes.
Key Responsibilities- Coordinate and review financial assistance payments to ensure accuracy and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Conduct quality assurance checks to verify payment details and ensure timely processing.
- Manage payment schedules and coordinate with the departmental central unit payment team to ensure seamless processing.
- Provide expert advice and support to stakeholders, including victims of crime and service providers, on payment queries and related matters.
- Contribute to operational budgets, performance reports, and annual reporting, ensuring accurate and timely data.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Finance teams, to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- Proven experience in Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, with a solid understanding of finance fundamentals.
- General knowledge of government accounting and financial legislation, policies, and budget/reporting cycles.
- Ability to create reports, manipulate and analyze data, and critically review them.
- Experience using PowerBI or similar interactive data visualization software to create reports.
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in the application of the Oracle Financial System and Axiom budget management system (desirable).
- Commitment to trauma-informed practice, including an understanding of the victim service system, ability to apply an intersectional lens in service delivery, and support and inform victims of crime.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
