About the Opportunity
NSW Health is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Peer Support Worker at Fairfield Community Mental Health Service. This role plays a vital part in supporting individuals with mental health challenges on their recovery journey.
As a Peer Support Worker, you will provide one-on-one support to consumers, helping them navigate the mental health system and access necessary resources. You will also work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to promote person-centered care and ensure that consumer voices are heard.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with lived experience of mental health challenges to share their insights and expertise with others, while continuing to develop your skills and knowledge in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide peer support to individuals navigating the mental health system
- Assist consumers in accessing external services and resources
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Offer insights and consultation to clinical staff
- Contribute to administrative tasks that support service delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Lived experience of mental health challenges and recovery
- Degree or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer
- Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work or willingness to complete
- Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2)
