Key responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements, updating contracts to reflect business needs, and communicating contractual obligations to stakeholders.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be responsible for standardising templates for recurring contracts, supporting non-legal team members on contract terms, providing post-transaction support, and liaising with external counsel and advisors as needed. They will also be responsible for conducting risk assessments and recommending alternative provisions. In addition, they will provide practical legal advice on contract law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
Qualifications and Skills Required
The ideal candidate should possess relevant tertiary qualifications with 3-5 years post-admission legal experience. Experience in general commercial law is advantageous. They must be proficient in drafting and reviewing contracts using plain English and a commercial mindset. Strong stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and communication skills are essential, as well as ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt priorities as needed.
