The Opportunity

At Revo Fitness, we are seeking a dedicated Legal Counsel to join our growing legal team. This role is crucial in supporting our growth, ensuring compliance, and mitigating legal risks. The Legal Counsel will work closely with our Senior Legal Counsel to provide strategic legal advice to internal stakeholders, support business growth, and ensure compliance to laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Drafting and Negotiation
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial agreements (including general commercial, construction, property and marketing agreements).
  • Update contracts to reflect business needs, legal updates, and regulatory changes.
  • Ensure contracts align with organisational goals and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate key contractual obligations, risks, and mitigation strategies to stakeholders.
  • Conduct risk assessments and recommend alternative provisions.
Administration and Transactional Support
  • Standardise templates for recurring contracts.
  • Support non-legal team members on contract terms.
  • Provide post-transaction support, including contract integration and compliance monitoring.
  • Liaise with external counsel and advisors as needed.
Legal Advisory
  • Provide practical legal advice on contract law, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and risk management.
  • Offer ad hoc advice on operational, marketing, and compliance matters.
  • Research and interpret legislation, regulations, and case law.
  • Develop tools to support non-legal teams in making legally sound decisions.
  • Monitor changes in Australian laws and industry standards, providing briefings and recommendations.
  • Support compliance frameworks in areas such as privacy, competition law, and consumer protection.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications with 3-5 years post-admission legal experience.
  • Experience in general commercial law (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing contracts using plain English and a commercial mindset.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and shift priorities as needed.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills, with the ability to forge relationships at all levels.
  • Problem-solving mindset, objectivity, self-initiating, and deadline driven.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, commitment to delivery, and strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Admitted to practice law in Australia with a current practicing certificate.
