Software and Hardware Support Specialist

BD is seeking a Software and Hardware Support Specialist to provide technical assistance for software and hardware issues related to electro-medical equipment. The role involves remote support, diagnostics, field repairs, preventative maintenance, performance testing, and electrical safety testing of company-related equipment. Travel is a key requirement within the role, and candidates must be flexible and willing to travel interstate as needed.

  • Ensure timely diagnosis of system errors and customer issues are resolved promptly.
  • Ensure software levels of equipment are current.
  • Ensure product repair turnaround goals are achieved.
Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support for software and hardware issues related to electro-medical equipment.
  • Performing routine and breakdown maintenance as required.
  • Planning, scheduling, and communicating Preventative Maintenance visits and breakdown visits to fit in with the customers' requirements.
  • Monitoring cases between Service Desk and customer for assigned sites. Escalating and managing as required.

Key Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong fault-finding, diagnostic, and repair experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge, interpersonal/negotiation skills, time management, and ability to direct and support as appropriate.
  • Ability to identify potential issues/complaints and escalate as appropriate.
