About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Department Head to join our team at a vibrant, co-educational day and boarding school in North Queensland. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a department of dedicated professionals who are committed to providing high-quality education to students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To lead and manage a department of teachers, ensuring that they are supported in their roles and that student outcomes are maximized.
  • To develop and implement departmental plans and policies, aligning with the school's vision and values.
  • To work collaboratively with other leaders and departments to ensure that the school's strategic objectives are achieved.
  • To contribute to the school's commitment to continuous improvement, staying up-to-date with the latest educational practices and research.

Our school is located in the picturesque Townsville region of North Queensland. We have a strong focus on community engagement and offer a wide range of extracurricular activities to support our students' physical, social, and emotional development.

Requirements

  • A relevant tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Education or equivalent).
  • Current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers Registration (or eligible to gain).
  • Working Rights for Australia (or eligible to gain).
  • Appropriate qualifications and experience teaching subjects outlined above.
  • Committed to upholding and promoting the values and ethos of the school.
