Job Description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Technical Operations Team Member to join our team at the National Institute of Dramatic Art. As a key member of our technical crew, you will be responsible for providing exceptional technical support to our productions and events.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the setup and operation of lighting and audio-visual equipment
  • Operate counterweight fly systems and supervise venues with external clients
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on technical equipment
  • Assist in the archival of productions and provide AV support
  • Collaborate with the technical team to ensure smooth execution of events

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in live performance activities, including bump in and out
  • Experience with AV support for education and meeting room spaces
  • Experience programming/operating ETC Eos Lighting Consoles
  • Experience programming/operating dLive/SQ5 Audio Consoles & QLab
  • Experience operating counterweight Fly Systems
  • Experience on the installation and operation of Production Archives
  • Experience Supervising Venues with external clients
  • Experience in electronics fault finding, repair and maintenance
  • Holding a current and valid Forklift License

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Rigging, electrical test and tag, and electronic equipment maintenance qualifications

Working Conditions:

This is a casual position, with work not guaranteed. The pay rate will be in accordance with the Live Performance Award, with a 25% casual loading and 11.5% superannuation.

A valid Working With Children Check for NSW is essential. Having one or being willing to get one before commencement of work and to support and implement NIDA's Child Safe Strategies is necessary to undertake this role.
