Electrical Systems Supervisor

The key role of this position is to manage and support a team of skilled technicians focused on troubleshooting, maintenance, and upgrades of electrical systems in automated straddle carriers.

As an Electrical Systems Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring high equipment availability and driving continuous improvement in reliability and safety.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day maintenance activities for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  • Collaborate with the team to identify and resolve technical issues related to PLCs, HMIs, sensors, wiring, and power distribution.
  • Develop and implement predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and optimize system performance.
  • Work closely with operations, planning, and engineering teams to ensure seamless integration and coordination.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to prevent future equipment failures.
  • Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Review and update technical documentation, schematics, and maintenance procedures as needed.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new systems or modifications to existing equipment.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably in port or terminal operations.
  • Strong knowledge of PLCs (e.g., OMRON, SIEMENS), drive systems, industrial networking, and diagnostic tools.
  • Hands-on experience with straddle carriers, mobile cranes, or similar mobile equipment is highly desirable.
  • Proven supervisory or team leadership experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
