Compliance Risk Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Compliance Risk Specialist to join our team. This role has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Incident and Breach Management frameworks, policies, tools, systems and processes required for effective risk management.
  • Conduct compliance assessments of incidents to support regulatory breach assessment processes.
  • Present compliance assessments to relevant stakeholders and forums as required.
  • Provide compliance advice, insights, themes, trends to key stakeholders including boards, committees and other forums in relation to incidents and breaches.
  • Review and monitor compliance with relevant policies.
  • Offer pragmatic advice, guidance and support to business leaders on risk and compliance matters.
  • Support colleagues across the organisation.
Reporting and Process:
  • Prepare (and present as required) concise and meaningful professional reports for management and related Boards and Board sub-committees.
  • Partner closely with colleagues to drive alignment and consistent implementation of risk and compliance framework accountabilities.
Strategy & People:
  • Contribute to priorities and work plans for the Risk & Compliance function.
  • Review industry developments and consider impacts on the risk and compliance environment.
Requirements:
  • A tertiary qualification in Law, Commerce, Finance, Risk Management or a related field.
  • Relevant post graduate and / or professional qualification desirable.
  • At least 5+ years experience in a similar role or compliance role experience is desirable.
Skills and Qualities:
  • Strong understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand business issues and adopt a pragmatic risk based approach.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to engage, build rapport and present to management.
