Our Client

Our client is a reputable industry-leading tier 2 civil construction and remediation business, seeking a Project Manager for their Sydney office.

The Role

  • Lead the production team when on duty, ensuring all team members are engaged and on task.
  • Implement systems and improve current processes/SOPs to make the production process lean and efficient.
  • Engage in training to become HACCP certified and work with founders to grow the business.
  • Ensure the production of high-quality, safe, and legally compliant products that meet desired product standards and customer expectations.

The Responsibilities

  • Ensure Workplace Health and Safety and Food Safety requirements are met through training and as a member of the Loco Love HACCP Team.
  • Lead Production Team to achieve daily and weekly targets (volume and quality) through implementation and monitoring of KPIs for each team.
  • Ensure team is engaged and upholds company values, fostering collaborative and harmonious working practices.
  • Create and populate Rosters for both am and pm shifts and assist Production Manager with publishing weekly production schedule.
  • Working with the Founders, suggest improvements in cost of goods sold, employee commitment, people and food safety, production planning, efficiency & volumes.
  • Input production data in DEAR – Inventory Management system to keep an accurate track of raw materials and finished goods stock on hand.
  • Communicate with Dispatch Team on a daily basis to avoid out of stock SKUs.
  • Ensure food safety and product quality requirements are followed.
  • Run Daily morning and afternoon Toolbox talks to monitor, share and record changes, track performance and provide coaching to your team members.
  • Ensure clean as you go and end of shift/week cleaning schedule are implemented and personal hygiene practices and GMP are followed.
  • Communicate up all significant matters, take prompt corrective action where necessary and implement preventative measures to avoid recurrence and amend SOPs accordingly.
  • Create a learning culture and of continuous improvement where every team member can better him/herself and the company goals on a daily basis.
  • EOD close or open of factory depending on schedule, some flexibility is required at times.
  • Receive raw materials and packaging deliveries and check GRN against delivered goods, take samples for QC and retention samples and put into storage.
  • Reports to the Production Manager.

The Requirements

  • Proven technical experience in Food Manufacturing preferably within chocolate/candy (confectionary) product formulation, process development, and Quality Management.
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate an advantage.
  • Production team leading and coaching.
  • Collaborate with Dispatch, QC and Supply Chain Departments.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement through DMAIC framework or similar.
  • Professional approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident manner.
  • Positive approach to change.
  • The ability to thrive in a small company setting along with the leadership skills required to lead the production operation as it grows.
