Job Opportunity:
A Regional Newsroom RoleWe are seeking an experienced journalist to join our news team in a regional setting. This role offers the chance to take ownership of your market and report on various topics, including environment, sports, and politics.
About the Role:
This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday. As a journalist, you will be responsible for researching, compiling, and producing high-quality news stories for our weekday bulletins. You'll work closely with editors and camera operators to ensure our broadcasts meet deadlines and maintain high standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A university qualification in journalism with at least one year of experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated understanding of how to create engaging news content
- Knowledge of local, national, and international news affecting the community
- Demonstrated understanding and working knowledge of media law
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to meet deadlines through effective time management
- Capacity to operate in a team environment and contribute positively to working relationships
- Ability to identify story opportunities and work with initiative and flexibility
- Positive work ethic and willingness to learn new systems and processes
