Job Opportunity: Community Mental Health Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic professional to deliver outreach support across the East Gippsland region.

In this role, you will work closely with individuals living with mental ill-health in the community to achieve their recovery goals, build confidence, strengthen social connections, and live independently.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality outreach services, case-managed responses, and facilitate positive educational and social experiences.
  • Develop and implement group programs that aid individuals to build their skills and focus on recovery.
  • Utilize strengths-based, recovery-oriented approaches to help individuals develop daily living skills, capacity, and resilience.
  • Offer information and mentoring to individuals to establish connections with community, families, and carers, create networks, and access relevant services.
  • Collaborate with a range of services, families, and the community to ensure a coordinated, integrated response to individuals' recovery goals.
Requirements:
  • Tertiary qualifications (minimum Certificate IV) in Mental Health, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or other health-related field.
  • Expertise in working with individuals with mental health issues, complex needs, and interacting with families and carers.
  • Experience applying therapeutic approaches such as trauma-informed care, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, harm reduction, and family-inclusive practice.
  • Ability to co-design, co-produce, and co-facilitate groups and educational programs.
  • Willingness and ability to provide evidence of COVID-19 vaccinations (three doses required).
