Job SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Commercial Loan Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing new business opportunities and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Develop a list of prospective new clients and engage in new business development activities required for adding new customer relationships on a consistent basis.
- Call on existing customers to develop new business and increase or retain existing relationships.
- Develop and service a wide variety of clients through providing secured and unsecured loans or lines of credit ranging from $5MM to $75MM in credit exposure.
- Guide the credit department or junior officers in the analysis of credit opportunities and the development of appropriate credit approval request documents.
- Establish and recommend appropriate loan structures, products, and terms, within established lending limits, with input from the manager.
- Monitor current loans and credit lines within the assigned portfolio, with assistance from the Portfolio Manager, to ensure complete compliance with loan terms and bank policies.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Originate and structure commercial loans
- Collaborate with internal teams to drive business growth
- Ensure compliance with loan terms and bank policies
- Advanced sales and marketing skills
- Understanding and proficiency in working with credit legal documentation
- Demonstrated ability to review and evaluate documentation for risk
- Experience with regulatory, compliance, and due diligence requirements
- Commitment to updating job knowledge through educational opportunities
- Understanding of bank operations and familiarity with the credit process
- Strong organizational, reasoning, and communication skills
- Self-motivated and independent with the ability to multi-task, balance a demanding workload, and meet critical deadlines
- Proficiency in PC skills including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Progression in a commercial career
- Five or more years of credit analysis and portfolio management experience
- Three or more years of commercial lending experience, with strong credit skills and a record of success in developing, maintaining, and closing new business
- Ability to utilize deductive and inductive reasoning to solve problems
- Ability to understand new information and apply it for future problem-solving and decision-making
