Data Protection Specialist

Betfair Australia is a disruptor in the Australian sports betting industry, bringing innovation and competition while operating responsibly to protect the community.
As a Junior Risk Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in investigating and preventing fraudulent activities on the Betfair Exchange. This includes identifying key business risks through customer account analysis and ensuring fairness and integrity within our betting markets.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about data analysis, fraud prevention, and developing technical skills in a dynamic environment. They will work with a team of passionate individuals who strive to create a safe and supportive working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitoring customer transactions in real-time to identify and prevent fraudulent activities
- Analysing large data sets to detect suspicious activity, preparing detailed reports for internal and external use
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and undertaking chargeback investigation and reconciliation for fraudulent transactions
- Staying updated on global fraud trends and payment risks
Required Skills and Qualifications
The successful candidate will have relevant tertiary qualifications and/or experience in an analytical or investigative role, as well as strong data analysis skills, attention to detail, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
