Senior Mental Health Clinician Opportunity

Job Description

This is a unique opportunity to work in the Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) as a Senior Mental Health Clinician. The PIMHS provides specialist perinatal mental health support for parents and their infants, through direct patient care, home visiting, in-reach into maternity, liaison, referral, and consultation.

The successful candidate will be client-centered, passionate, and enthusiastic, with extensive post-graduate clinical experience in mental health, particularly in working with families of infants experiencing severe and complex psychosocial and psychiatric problems during the perinatal period.

The role involves providing high-level clinical advice, developing education tools or programs, and consulting within and external to the organization. You will also be part of a multi-disciplinary team, applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgment when dealing with novel, complex, or critical situations.

You will work with the Sutherland Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Services, based at Caringbah Community Health Centre, located on the campus of The Sutherland Hospital.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A Social Worker, Occupational Therapist, or Psychologist qualification, with current full registration with AHPRA and/or eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer.

  • Excellent negotiation, decision-making, and advocacy skills, including the ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders throughout all organisational levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-level clinical advice, develop education tools or programs, and consult within and external to the organization.
  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, applying advanced reasoning skills and independent professional judgment when dealing with novel, complex, or critical situations.
Benefits
  • An eligibility list may be created for future temporary part-time positions.
  • Up to 12 allocated days off each year, in addition to annual leave.
  • Salary packaging options that reduce your taxable income and increase your take-home pay.
  • Discounted gym memberships with a Fitness Passport.
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for employees and family members.
  • Discounted Private Health Insurance.
Others
