Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Design Mapping Officer to join our team in Cairns, Gatton, Gladstone, Nambour, Raceview, Toowoomba, or Townsville. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing complex technical work using technical principles, practices, and techniques for implementing routine overhead and underground distribution design into the GIS.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and issuance of design documentation.
  • Detailed design tasks while managing a schedule of work.
  • Operation of the GIS / drafting software to produce detailed design drawings in the Overhead and Underground EQL networks.
  • Technical advice on assigned work activities.
  • Demonstration of personal commitment to health, safety, and environment within an inclusive workplace.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the electrical network databases and current systems used in Energy Queensland including Smallworld, AUD, Ellipse, Connect.
  • Knowledge of the electrical network and its representation on works plans and maps.
  • Ability to interpret documents to describe the state and activities carried out to the electrical network from LV to 132 kV.
  • Intermediate knowledge and application of MS Office Suite.
  • Competence in the use of GIS / computer aided drafting systems and software.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • A Diploma level of studies in a relevant field such as Spatial Science/Services or Electrical Engineering (desirable or the ability to obtain).
  • Certificate IV in ESI Power Systems Design (desirable).
  • Electricity Supply Industry Experience (desirable but not essential).

Estimated Salary: $108,859 - $127,253 per annum plus superannuation based on location and experience.
