Job Title: Team Lead Outage Planning and Reporting

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Power System Engineer to lead our Outage Planning and Reporting team. As a key member of our Operations Planning team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable, safe, and secure operation of the Northern Territory's power systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Outage Planning Coordination: Oversee the coordination of outage planning activities across the Northern Territory's three regulated networks: Darwin-Katherine, Tennant Creek, and Alice Springs Power Systems.
  2. Power System Event Reporting: Ensure the timely and accurate reporting of power system events, including outages, faults, and other significant events.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead a diverse team of power system engineers, providing technical guidance and supervision to ensure the successful delivery of team outcomes.
  4. Strategic Planning: Assist the Operations Planning Manager in developing the Operations Planning Team's strategy, including identifying development opportunities and providing engineering mentorship to enhance System Control's engineering capability.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with external industry stakeholders to maintain effective relationships and manage Power & Water's interests in reform activities.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A strong background in the electricity supply industry, power system configuration, optimisation, planning, and enhancement.
  • Proven skills in managing people, resolving personnel and industrial issues, and leading proactive cultural change.
  • Experience in public consultation within a regulated industry, engaging multiple external participants.
  • A strong understanding of the Northern Territory's power systems and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
