Medical Laboratory Technician

NSW Health Pathology is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to join their team in a temporary full-time capacity. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a range of laboratory investigations and tests, as well as undertaking other laboratory duties.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform laboratory investigations and tests, applying established methods and procedures as directed.
  • Undertake other laboratory duties, including preparation of materials and maintenance of equipment, in line with established laboratory processes and protocols.
Requirements:
  • Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the delivery of pathology services within a discipline relevant to the department, including use of Laboratory Information Systems, Patient Systems and Quality Systems.
  • Ability to work in a responsible and efficient manner, managing competing priorities to meet deadlines.
  • Customer focused approach, displaying well-developed interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills.
  • Display initiative, problem solving and analytical skills, applying established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigating and resolving general and complex issues.
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous quality improvement, identifying and implementing quality and service improvement activities.
