Patient Services Officer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Officer to join our team. As a key member of our administrative support staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient service and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative assistance to patients, doctors, and other staff members as required.
  • Patient Service: Ensure a high level of patient service is provided, including meeting patient needs, maintaining patient service levels, and monitoring and reacting to patient feedback.
  • Billing and Payment: Support patient billing and payment discussions with clarity, empathy, and professionalism.
  • Scheduling and Coordination: Schedule doctor consultations, balance availability with clinical priorities, and coordinate all requirements to support successful doctor clinic visits.
  • Correspondence and Documents: Manage incoming correspondence, including scanning, sorting, and appropriately actioning documents.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Experience: Experienced in administrative roles within fast-paced, customer-focused settings, ideally within healthcare.
  • Knowledge: Knowledgeable in patient billing processes and Medicare funding pathways.
  • Skills: Confident in managing urgent matters and coordinating time-sensitive medical appointments with efficiency and care. Highly organized and articulate, with strong communication skills to engage effectively with both internal teams and external stakeholders.
