We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic instructor to lead our group fitness classes.

Job Description:

This position is responsible for safely delivering engaging and effective group fitness classes at the Recreation Center. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate leadership abilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Instruct dynamic and engaging group fitness classes to participants of varying fitness levels.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all participants, ensuring their needs are met and they feel valued.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues through phone, email, or in-person conversations.
  • Enforce program policies and procedures during emergency situations.
  • Attend regular meetings with Group Fitness and department staff to stay informed and share knowledge.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Possess current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
  • Hold specialty certifications, such as ACE, AFAA, or ACSM, to teach classes like yoga, cycling, or Pilates.
  • Demonstrate leadership and supervisory abilities.
  • Exhibit entrepreneurial spirit and enthusiasm.
  • Ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
  • Work in an office environment or fitness center setting.
  • Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels.
  • Occasional evening or weekend work required.
Physical Demands:
  • Stand or walk for at least 50% of the workday.
  • Occasional bending and stooping may be required.
  • Able to hear and communicate effectively.
