The Operational Buyer Manager plays a crucial role in the success of Thales UK, responsible for supervising a small team and ensuring the execution of procurement strategy. Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage purchase orders, including "excess/obsolete" and order cancellation, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve invoicing issues, shortages, and late delivery problems.
  • Develop and implement procurement plans, projects, and initiatives to achieve cost savings and improve operational efficiency.
  • Monitor and forecast procurement and supply chain performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Interface with IS/IT to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with Thales' Baseline Security requirements and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Advanced internal and supplier relationships, with the ability to challenge and negotiate with suppliers.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and diagnose supplier risks.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in office productivity applications, including Excel, and ERP purchasing tools.
