Lead Architect Job Description

As a Lead Architect, you will have the opportunity to work on numerous complex projects concurrently.

  • Complete quality control of final architectural products
  • Liaise with clients and manage sub-consultants
  • Develop project plans, including programming and budgeting
  • Coordinate client sign-offs for key milestones
  • Delegate tasks and provide support as needed
  • Meet deadlines and ensure team productivity

You will also be responsible for managing project fees, including preparation of proposals and invoices. The ideal candidate will have a professional degree plus 6-10 years of experience, proficiency in computer software, and command of at least two areas of expertise: Concept Design, Design Development, Documentation, or Construction/Site Administration.

The selected candidate must possess a thorough understanding of all phases of the architectural process, a systematic approach to design development, documentation, dimensioning, referencing, and detailing complete architectural packages. They should have strong report writing skills, scheduling, specification writing, leadership, performance management, organizational skills, and time management abilities.

A track record of contributing effectively to project profitability is essential, along with a written professional development plan and a record of past accomplishments. The candidate should have been responsible for successful completion of at least one project worth over $10 million.
