Senior Paint and Roto Artist

The Senior Paint and Roto Artist plays a pivotal role in delivering high-level, visually stunning Paint and Roto tasks with minimal supervision. They drive innovation and excellence in their work, staying ahead of industry trends.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular meetings, collaborate with team leads, and address notes and fixes promptly to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Develop broad stroke notes and define looks for key events and shots, fostering creative collaboration within the team.
  • Provide expert artistic feedback to other Roto artists, offering suggestions and alternate approaches proactively to enhance overall quality.
  • Prepare consistently with visual references, ensuring timely feedback and effective communication.
  • Mentor less-experienced artists, helping them troubleshoot shots and set-ups while promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Take ownership of work, suggesting solutions, efficiencies, and enhancements for look and technique, driving continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on current trends and tools in the industry, sharing knowledge with the team to maintain a competitive edge.

Technical Requirements:

  • Exceptional artistic eye and experience in making shots 'look cool', with a keen sense of aesthetics.
  • Keen eye for detail in reviewing roto/paint shots, ensuring accuracy and precision.
  • Proficient in performing all roto/paint tasks with Silhouette and Nuke, with a strong understanding of software capabilities.
  • Advanced hand painting techniques using Silhouette, demonstrating expertise and creativity.
  • Strong proficiency in multi-element integration and edge work, with a focus on delivering seamless visual effects.
  • Demonstrates complex roto and paint work expertise, establishing novel techniques and maintaining a solid understanding of image pipeline from capture to delivery.
