Senior FX Technical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior FX Technical Director to join our team in Sydney, Australia.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years of experience in high-end feature film visual effects and a strong understanding of techniques and technologies relating to physical simulation in computer graphics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Producing photoreal effects such as smoke, fire, clouds, water, steam, and explosions, as well as experience with particle and voxel-based rendering.
  • Collaborating with other teams to integrate effects into feature films.
  • Developing and maintaining expertise in Houdini and other relevant software tools.
  • Troubleshooting pipeline issues and providing solutions.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 6 years of high-end feature film VFX experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of Houdini and other relevant software tools.
  • Experience in live-action FX work and compositing applications (Nuke preferred).
  • Strong understanding of Linux/Unix based operating systems.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience in other areas of visual effects (TV, Games).
  • Maya, Python, Hscript or Mel knowledge.
  • Good generalist TD background.

This is a 2-year contract position. The ideal candidate must have the right to work in Australia.
