Psychosocial Health and Safety Specialist

The Psychosocial Health and Safety Specialist will play a critical leadership role in implementing an organisational mental health roadmap across multiple sites, functions, and services. This expert will provide guidance, coaching, tools, and frameworks to ensure consistent delivery of evidence-based mental health and psychosocial strategies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Drive the implementation of the mental health roadmap across multiple sites, functions, and services.
  • Translate strategic priorities into operational plans that align with business realities.
  • Lead engagement activities to secure commitment, ownership, and shared accountability at a local level.
  • Provide direct coaching, mentoring, and technical support to occupational health and safety, human resources, and operational managers in identifying, assessing, and managing psychosocial risks.
  • Build capability of leaders to meet their responsibilities under workplace health and safety legislation, including creating psychologically safe teams and managing psychosocial hazards.

This role requires a tertiary qualification in psychology, occupational health and safety, organisational development, or a related field, along with proven experience in implementing mental health strategies or psychosocial risk programs in large, complex organisations.

The ideal candidate will possess high-level communication and engagement skills, including relationship building, empathy, negotiation, and conflict management skills, to initiate, promote, and support programme implementation and change.
