The Role

We're looking for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in Melbourne.

This position will be based out of our Melbourne Office and will design, manage, and supervise projects, working as part of a global engineering consultancy.

This is a senior role whereby you will have the opportunity to carry out detailed design whilst assuming the role of design leader where required, coordinating with other engineering disciplines.

In this role, you'll assist the Group Leader with monitoring engineering/CAD resource requirement for each project within your control.

• Carry out engineering concept design to detailed design, tender, and contract on-site supervision, to completion, ensuring projects are undertaken in accordance with design briefs and that completion deadlines are achieved.
• Liaise with the design team to produce coordinated designs that are technically compliant, to a consistent quality and standard.
• Provide positive contribution to design/project meetings.
• Maintain regular 'in-house' design reviews and checks.
• Monitor and control project progress, design variations, and project financial budgets.
• Monitor contract staff or third-party appointments.
• Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
• Pursue new business opportunities where appropriate with existing and new clients.
• Assist the Group Leader with identifying and implementing your personal training/CPD requirements.
• Participate in Site Works as required.
• Develop and maintain good relations with the various industry networks, clients, government agencies, sub-consultants, and construction contractors relevant to the MEP team's activities.

Requirements

Consulting experience is a must.

Mission Critical Design/Data Centre Design Experience is an added advantage.

Good working knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice, and guidelines.

Familiar and hands-on with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Visio, and Autocad.

Proficient in Revit.

Familiar with Electrical proprietary software such as ETAP, Vipcodia, Power Cad etc is an added advantage.

Successful project management experience in the MEP sector is an added advantage.

What You'll Need

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasis.
• A minimum of 10 years' experience in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems.
• Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.
