
Support Specialist for People with Dementia

About the Role
A unique opportunity to work in a dynamic team, providing support and coaching to individuals and families affected by dementia.
The successful candidate will facilitate on-ground support, implementing relationship-based strategies, modeling, and coaching with clients, carers, and care staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with peers to develop skills, expertise, and/or applied knowledge of aged care staff and carers to understand people living with dementia and develop best practice support and care.
- Support the implementation of recommendation plans on the ground, drawing on modeling and coaching techniques, and seek guidance from senior consultants as required.
- Facilitate and support the trial and implementation of brokerage items with clients and their carers, and seek guidance from senior consultants as required.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Strong organisational abilities, including effective time management and ability to prioritise in a busy work environment.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to excellence in customer service principles, including conflict resolution to ensure consistent provision of exceptional service to internal and external customers.
- A current driver's licence and safe driving record.
- Willingness to travel and work intrastate and interstate for up to five days at a time to support the delivery of services.
- Qualification in relevant field; Allied Health assistant, Diversional Therapy, Enrolled Nursing (EN), Aged Care, Cert III or IV in Individual Support / Leisure and Health or similar highly desirable.
