Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

As a legal professional in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), you will provide critical support to Defence leaders at all levels. Your expertise will ensure compliance with legal obligations for military operations and aviation. You will assist commanders with personnel management, supporting the smooth functioning of the military justice system.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal counsel to senior Defence leaders
  • Ensure that military operations and aviation comply with relevant laws and regulations
  • Support commanders with personnel management decisions
  • Contribute to the development of effective policies and procedures

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

To excel in this role, you will require a strong understanding of various areas of law, including Military Administrative Law, Military Operations Law, and Military Discipline Law. You should also be familiar with workplace health and safety, copyright law, environmental law, and financial delegations and government contracts.

Eligibility and Requirements

To be eligible for this role, you must meet certain criteria, including holding a tertiary qualification in Law and being admitted as a legal practitioner to the Supreme Court of an Australian state or territory.
