Advanced Navigation Electronics Specialist

About The Role- As a Senior Electronics Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electronic circuits for advanced navigation technologies utilising analogue, digital, RF and optoelectrical circuit design.
- You will contribute throughout the entire design phase from prototype to development, and through manufacturing, for complex products.
Our team is diverse and skilled in electronic, mechatronic and photonics engineering. We develop high-performance hardware for our portfolio of products.
Key Responsibilities:- Design signal chain processing circuits (filters, amplifiers, etc.), digital signal circuits including high-speed interfaces
- Develop mixed signal processing chains (ie A-D and D-A)
- Create PCB schematic designs and layouts using industry-standard tools
- Simulate and optimise circuits
- Collaborate with software team to ensure hardware designs meet software requirements
- Identify a clear scope of work, and communicate progress to leadership and fellow team members
- Design 3D CAD models for fit, function and manufacturability
- Document your design work, including specifications, compliance matrices, design calculations, analysis reports, drawings, test plans, test reports and BOMs
- Lead design reviews, test readiness reviews and production readiness reviews
- Document all engineering designs, tests and investigation work to a high standard as part of the peer review process
- Peer review others work to ensure cross checking is performed and documented
- Design for Manufacturing and Assembly using sound engineering methodologies
- Work with manufacturing and support teams to deliver and maintain hardware equipment and systems
- Develop assembly, repair and test techniques, sourcing of alternates to obsolete parts and materials, and testing as per appropriate engineering specifications
A Bachelor degree or higher in electrical/electronic engineering and/or mechatronics is required. Significant experience in designing and developing complex electronics is also necessary.
Proficiency in using industry-standard tools such as SPICE and Altium Designer is essential. Experience in releasing multiple high-volume products to market is highly desirable.
A track record of turning high-level discussions into detailed, personal work plans and reporting progress to management is crucial. You must be highly motivated, energetic and responsive with a proven ability to make things happen.
