Job Title: Network Director

About the Role

The role of Network Director plays a pivotal part in supporting the delivery of safe, secure, and reliable electricity and gas supply through the energy transition.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead the stewardship and reform of economic, competition, safety, and technical policy frameworks for electricity networks and gas and fuel pipelines.
  • Provide expert advice to inform positions on national energy reforms.
  • Deliver government interventions to support priority infrastructure projects that maintain system security in the short to medium term.
  • Oversee high-performing teams managing legislation, regulation, and implementation of network and pipeline policy.
  • Represent NSW in national forums and coordinate policy direction with key delivery partners including AEMO Services and the Energy Security Corporation.
  • Drive reforms in transmission planning, contestability, licensing, and access arrangements.
  • Modernise safety and technical regulatory frameworks to align with future infrastructure needs.
  • Monitor and advise on revenue determinations, cost recovery mechanisms, and regulatory incentive schemes.
About You

You are a strategic leader with deep experience in the energy sector. Ideally you have:

  • A background within electricity or gas supply infrastructure development, strategy, or regulatory affairs.
  • Experience in government (state or federal), market bodies or regulated infrastructure portfolios with a clear passion for advancing the energy transition.
  • Proven ability to manage large teams and complex portfolios.
  • Direct experience in network or pipeline development, energy policy, or project delivery.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional experience and training.
