Director of Infrastructure and Assets Management

We are seeking a highly skilled Director to lead our Infrastructure and Assets Management team.

About the Role:

This is a key leadership position responsible for the strategic planning, delivery, and management of Council's assets, infrastructure, and public spaces. The Director will oversee the day-to-day operations and maintenance of city infrastructure, ensuring public services and facilities operate smoothly.

The role involves managing council's depot-based functions, such as Civil Maintenance, Parks and Sports Field Maintenance, Fleet Management, and Operational Procurement, to deliver essential services efficiently, safely, and to a high standard. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for the strategic and operational management of Council's Capital Works Program, providing overall coordination and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the management of Council's assets, infrastructure, and public spaces.
  • Lead and manage a high-performing team responsible for the delivery of infrastructure and asset management projects.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of city infrastructure, including public services and facilities.
  • Manage council's depot-based functions, including Civil Maintenance, Parks and Sports Field Maintenance, Fleet Management, and Operational Procurement.
  • Provide strategic and operational management of Council's Capital Works Program, including project delivery and coordination.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A proven track record in infrastructure and asset management, with experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Strong strategic planning and implementation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire, influence, and foster a culture of performance, innovation, and service excellence.
  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
