About This Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Platform Engineering team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in deploying, managing, and configuring our infrastructure on AWS.

Your primary focus will be on designing and implementing a redundant Postgres ecosystem, building a scalable, fault-tolerant, and cost-effective architecture. You will also work closely with software engineers to provide guidance on architectural patterns and goals.

In addition to your technical expertise, you must possess excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with teams across our entire engineering stack.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implement Infrastructure Solutions: Develop and implement scalable, secure, and efficient cloud-based infrastructure solutions using tools like Terraform, Python, Bash, and more.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with software engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration and alignment across the organization.
  • Drive Innovation and Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve existing infrastructure and processes to ensure they remain aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead by Example: Demonstrate leadership and mentorship skills to help junior team members develop their technical skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • Deep Technical Expertise: Proven experience with deployment and management of servers, services, and networking on AWS or similar environments.
  • Strong Collaboration Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • 'Infrastructure as Code' Approach: Experience with automation and configuration management tools like Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack.
  • Security and Compliance: Strong understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements for cloud-based infrastructure.
