About the Role

We have exciting opportunities for a Health Research Specialist to join an Aboriginal led project. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisations to support the sexual health and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.

This role involves conducting research and data collection within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and reporting on the research to maximise health outcomes for communities.

  • Working across either the Young, Deadly, Free or GLOWS projects:
    • Young, Deadly, Free - addressing factors influencing HIV and viral hepatitis outcomes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
    • GLOWS - Addressing factors influencing HIV and viral hepatitis outcomes among Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities
About You

To perform this role, it is essential that the person is an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander person. We are looking for someone with experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander communities in a health context and who is interested in furthering their research career.

The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication skills and be able to build effective relationships with stakeholders. They will also have a high level of cultural competence and understanding of the social determinants of health.
