Job Opportunity: Child Welfare Specialist
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for receiving and assessing reports of alleged abuse and neglect of children and young people, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and develop plans to protect children from harm.
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues in understanding and applying child protection frameworks.
- Lead case planning, review, and management to achieve objectives within specified timeframes.
- Utilize critical inquiry outcomes to inform practice and develop new skills.
- Offer expertise and support to others on evidence-based approaches to resolving issues.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel are essential for this role.
- The ability to work flexible hours, including overnight shifts and evening/early morning travel, may be required.
- Additional hours may be necessary to ensure the wellbeing of children in care.
- Familiarity with Aboriginal culture and knowledge of relevant legislation, policy, and practice requirements are highly valued.
- A Working with Children Check is mandatory for this position.
