Student Planner Role

Wyndham is one of Australia's fastest growing cities.

We are a diverse city with people from various backgrounds, and we're looking for someone to help us shape the future.

As a Student Planner, you will provide technical and administrative support to our Planning and Liveability Directorate. You'll be working closely with our Town Planning and Strategic Planning teams to ensure that our city is prepared for growth.

This is a unique opportunity to gain experience in land use planning, participate in the assessment of planning permits, and prepare planning advice. You'll also have the chance to conduct research on urban planning and development to support decision-making processes.

Key responsibilities include assisting with the assessment and preparation of planning permits, supporting Council Officers at hearings, and providing excellent customer service. You'll need to deliver accurate written reports and verbal advice on statutory planning matters.

We're looking for someone with strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You should have well-developed research and problem-solving skills, and be working towards a tertiary qualification in Urban Planning, Environmental Studies, or a related discipline. A basic knowledge of the legislative requirements of the Planning and Environment Act is essential.
