Improve Australia's air traffic control capabilities as a Systems Engineer in the ADATS Capability Assurance Program.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity allows you to work on critical national defence infrastructure, ensuring the continued effectiveness of military air traffic control systems nationwide. You will contribute to the integration of cutting-edge voice communication systems and digital technologies, collaborating with advanced COTS solutions from industry-leading global technology providers.

As a Systems Engineer, you will play a vital role in implementing system upgrades across RAAF bases, working closely with the Project IPT Lead and key stakeholders to ensure successful integration of modern COTS solutions while maintaining critical operational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support technical integration of system upgrades with existing ADATS infrastructure, ensuring seamless operation across multiple RAAF sites nationwide.
  • Analyse and document system interface requirements between COTS components and legacy systems.
  • Execute verification and validation activities, including factory and site acceptance testing.
  • Identify technical risks and implement approved mitigation strategies for system integration challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with subcontractors and stakeholders in executing system implementation and transition plans.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in engineering, preferably in systems engineering principles and practices.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with ability to work under general supervision.
  • Experience in requirements analysis and system integration activities.

Desirable Skills

  • Experience working with defence or aviation systems.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering tools such as DOORS and Cameo Systems Modeler.
  • Experience working with COTS integration in complex technical environments.
