Operational Supervisor Job Description

The role of Operational Supervisor involves coordinating daily activities to ensure effective team communication, efficient task delivery, and safe working conditions.

  • Coordinate toolbox meetings for seamless communication among team members.
  • Schedule staff, equipment, and fleet resources to meet operational requirements.
  • Conduct regular vehicle inspections and maintenance oversight to guarantee safe working conditions.
  • Mentor operators to develop their skills and improve performance.
  • Manage inventory levels by conducting stock audits for personal protective equipment (PPE) and consumables.
  • Oversee fleet standards, including vehicle cleanliness and damage inspections.
  • Participate in emergency response teams during critical incidents as needed.
Key Requirements
  • Proven experience supervising industrial service crews and managing fleet operations in hazardous waste or heavy industry sectors.
  • Current WA HR Licence and Forklift Ticket.
  • White Card, Confined Space Entry, and Working at Heights certifications.
  • Controlled Waste and/or Dangerous Goods Licence is advantageous.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to lead teams effectively.
  • Ability to write and review technical documentation, including Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS).
  • Methodical record-keeping and a proactive approach are essential.
  • Rail Industry Worker card is desirable but not essential.
