Job Opportunity for Precision Calibration Expert

Energy Queensland is seeking a highly skilled precision calibration expert to deliver high-precision calibration services. As a key member of our Instrument and Standards Laboratory, you will be responsible for delivering precise measurement solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Performing high-precision calibrations with exacting standards and internationally accepted methodologies.
  • Developing and automating calibration processes using proprietary software and coding languages such as C++ and VBA.
  • Reviewing and critically analysing calibration results to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
  • Investigating and solving intricate measurement challenges, troubleshooting faults, and refining procedures to comply with industry-leading standards.
  • Providing expert advice to customers on technical calibration processes and results.
  • Mentoring and supporting colleagues to strengthen the team's capabilities and improve laboratory processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • An Advanced Diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent).
  • A Queensland Electrical Work Licence as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Restricted Electrical Work Licence (or the ability to obtain one).
  • Experience in electronics, fault-finding, and diagnostics, with a solid understanding of calibration methodologies within the fields of electrical, temperature, humidity, and frequency/time interval.
  • Programming skills (C++, VBA, LabVIEW, or similar), with the ability to automate calibration processes.
  • A strong understanding of quality standards (AS/ISO/IEC-17025 and ISO 9001), with a quality focus and commitment to following procedures to ensure compliance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
