About the Role

As a senior psychologist, you will play a key role in conducting high-level clinical and neuropsychological assessments, providing brief interventions to consumers impacted by acute mental health problems.

This position undertakes duties of a complex and varied nature with clinical decisions based on valid and reliable evidence. You will be recognised as a reference point for other clinicians in the team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting high-quality evidence-based clinical/neuropsychology assessments, therapy, and interventions to consumers admitted to MHAIS.
  • Working collaboratively with consumers and their families, carers, and other service providers to achieve identified consumer outcomes.
  • Providing clinical practice supervision to less experienced psychologists and students on postgraduate placement in accordance with PsyBA guidelines.

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Vaccination against certain vaccine-preventable diseases as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16 is mandatory.
  • General registration or eligibility for general registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PsyBA) is mandatory.
