The new Footscray Hospital, one of Victoria's largest health infrastructure projects, will deliver essential support services through Compass Group Australia.

This state-of-the-art facility, supporting the community as a public hospital with clinical services provided by Western Health, will play a key role in shaping the future of healthcare in Victoria.

As the General Services Manager, oversee the delivery of non-clinical support services including Cleaning and Environmental Services, Food Services, Patient Service Assistants, Environmental Services, Security, and Grounds & Gardens.

  • Ensure excellence in quality, safety, cost, and service delivery for all contracted services within the hospital.
  • Build strong client relationships across a broad stakeholder network.
  • Develop management teams to deliver operational excellence and drive growth opportunities.
  • Champion a culture of care, respect, and engagement to enhance team performance.
  • Maintain financial accountability and identify areas for contract expansion.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and promote governance practices.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A proven track record managing complex contracts and budgets, ideally in healthcare and/or a PPP.
  • Experience as an experienced leader motivating unionised and non-unionised teams.
  • Customer-focused with a passion for high standards, service delivery, and continuous improvement.
  • Strong negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
  • A solid understanding of day-to-day operational requirements and process improvement.
  • A background in multi-service or facilities management within healthcare is preferred.
  • Formal management qualifications are desirable.
