Meat Cutter Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to perform various tasks related to cutting, grinding, slicing, and preparing meat products for sale.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the food industry. They will possess excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Perform tasks such as cutting, grinding, slicing, preparing, processing, trimming, tenderizing, sealing, packaging, wrapping, bagging, pricing, prefabricating, dating, labeling, scaling, merchandising, selling, serving customers, and other functions in accordance with company policies.
  • Keep department temperature logs accurately updated and maintained.
  • Stock and display meat items safely and in accordance with company standards.
  • Check product quality; make sure it is rotated properly and fresh.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, including sales areas, backrooms, coolers, carts, tools, and supplies.
  • Unload trucks, sort orders, and place them in proper cooler locations.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment in accordance with company and health department policies and procedures.
  • Provide good customer service, communicate effectively with customers, and maintain positive relationships with fellow associates.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Previous experience in a similar role, preferably in the food industry.
  • Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure.
  • A strong understanding of food safety protocols and regulations.
  • The ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
