Position Overview:

We are currently in search of a motivated and guest-oriented casual Guest Service Agent to become a vital part of our dynamic Front Office Team at Sir Stamford at Circular Quay. The Guest Service Agent will report to the Assistant Manager on duty and subsequently to the Front Office Manager, taking full responsibility for delivering exceptional guest service in every interaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver efficient and professional service, ensuring a seamless check-in and check-out experience for guests.
  • Extend a warm welcome to every guest visiting the reception area.
  • Prepare for group arrivals under the guidance of the senior receptionist.
  • Manage foreign exchange transactions for guests, including converting credit card payments into foreign currency.
  • Report any guest complaints or suspicious activities to the Assistant Manager on duty or the Front Office Manager.
  • Strive to promote room sales and other hotel amenities whenever feasible.
  • Oversee car park charges and validations, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Respond to all communications from the car park and check that all guests have settled their payments.
  • Handle fax requests and business center inquiries as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in the hotel industry is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is essential.
  • Familiarity with a reservations system, particularly Opera, is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy is required.
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure.
  • Excellent customer service skills are a must.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities and the capacity to follow through on tasks.
  • A positive attitude and ability to foster teamwork.
  • Strong problem-solving and research skills.
  • A proactive approach with a genuine passion for hospitality and travel.
