Lead Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Designer to lead the spatial and functional design of plant and infrastructure layouts.

  • Key Accountabilities:
  • Develop innovative and practical technical designs for mineral processing and materials handling systems.
  • Oversee 3D modelling and drafting using Bentley tools.
  • Ensure integrated, clash-free designs through coordination with other disciplines.
  • Incorporate site constraints and constructability into layouts.
  • Contribute to EPC/EPCM deliverables ensuring design intent through execution.
  • Translate client requirements into practical solutions.
  • Mentor junior designers and manage resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with Australian Standards and regulatory codes.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 10+ years in mechanical design
  • Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects, EPC/EPCM delivery from concept to commissioning.
  • Strong leadership in multi-disciplinary design coordination.
  • Proficient in 2D/3D modelling and design integration.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems, piping, and equipment layout.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable to changing project scopes.
  • Familiar with Australian Standards and mining design codes.
