Emergency Physician

Canberra Hospital is a tertiary referral hospital that sees presentations from the entire country. Our emergency department is one of the busiest in the country, with over 100,000 presentations per year.

Our emergency department has a high acuity with admission rates of more than 35%, and we see a significant trauma caseload. As the only tertiary hospital between Melbourne and Sydney, we receive presentations from across the region.

We have a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and other healthcare professionals who work together to provide high-quality patient care. We have a strong focus on education and training, with a range of opportunities for professional development.

Opportunities & Support

Rotations available include ICU, Anaesthetics, Retrieval, NICU, HITH, Medical Education, Acute Medical Unit, Forensics, Sexual Health, Medical Administration, Trauma, Paediatrics.

We have a dedicated Fellowship Exam Education program, Simulation teaching, Wellbeing Program, Mentorship program, ED Research unit, protected nonclinical time, and Registrar Education Program.
