Job Overview:

This position involves providing personal care and support to individuals, under the guidance of a supervisor. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • To deliver exceptional care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and psychological needs are met.
  • To develop and maintain strong relationships with residents, families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • To identify and report any changes or concerns related to a resident's health or wellbeing.
  • To provide assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • To promote independence and autonomy for residents, while also ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • To contribute to a positive and supportive team environment, promoting a culture of respect and inclusivity.
Key Qualifications:
  • Degree in Health Care Aide program (or equivalent certificate program) with minimum 500 hours in theory and practicum.
  • Experience working with seniors in community health services setting.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to perform tasks that are necessary for the position, e.g. lifting/transferring clients.
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) or be willing to obtain one.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to delivering high-quality care and support, as well as a passion for working with seniors. They will be able to work independently and as part of a team, and will have excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
