About the Role

In this senior position, you will:

  • Lead a team of diesel fitters and ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform complex servicing, repairs, and maintenance tasks in accordance with Thiess' technical documentation.
  • Source technical information from various sources, including OEM documentation and computer-based systems, and apply this knowledge to resolve complex issues.
  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping and ensure a clean and organized work area.
  • Deliver high-quality work and meet or exceed performance expectations.
  • Assume responsibility for the Maintenance Supervisor's duties in their absence and provide leadership and guidance to the team.
  • Communicate effectively with the team and other stakeholders through radio communications.

About You

  • You hold relevant trade qualifications and have experience working as a leading hand in the maintenance field on an operational mine.
  • You possess post-trade operational mine site experience and have a strong understanding of general service, maintenance, breakdowns, component change-outs, and diagnostics.
  • You are proficient in computer systems, including JDE, and have experience with oil analysis and interpretation.
  • You have a strong understanding of OEM computer-based systems and have experience working with CAT, Komatsu, and Hitachi heavy earth-moving equipment.
