Job Summary

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for delivering high-profile construction projects.

Main Responsibilities

  • Project Management: Direct and coordinate project teams to achieve set objectives.
  • Safety Leadership: Lead by example, ensuring a safe working environment through regular audits.
  • Procurement and Contract Administration: Manage engineering functions and procurement activities to ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Construction Budgets and Reports: Assist in preparing site construction budgets and reports for stakeholders.
  • Project Progress Monitoring: Track progress against program schedules and report to the Project Manager.
  • Interface with Stakeholders: Coordinate design deliverables and engage with external partners via designated leads.
  • Documentation and Records: Verify all variations are approved and documented accurately.
  • Commercial and Quality KPI's: Support effective subcontractor management to meet commercial and quality targets.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in construction project management, preferably in the mining sector.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a focus on developing a positive organisational culture.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience negotiating contracts and managing procurement.
  • Proven ability in cost control, planning, and contract administration.
  • Familiarity with Computerised Commissioning Management Systems (CCMS) highly desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to build strong relationships with diverse teams.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera P6.
