About the Role
Hastings Deering (Australia) Ltd is seeking an experienced, permanent, full-time Cybersecurity Lead Analyst to join our team.
The primary objective of this position is to protect our organisation's digital assets and infrastructure from cyber threats.
The successful candidate will have accountability for the security of IT and data assets, lead our Managed SOC analysts, analyse and respond to security incidents, and drive the adoption of Next-Generation security technology.
This position requires a deep understanding of security operations, incident response methodologies, and advanced threat detection techniques.
Key Responsibilities

Essential Requirements
You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
- 6+ years of experience in a dedicated incident response role within a diversified multi-national organisation.
- Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Security, or equivalent.
- GIAC, (ISC)2, CEH, Google, AWS, and/or Azure Cloud Security Certifications.
- Thorough understanding of cybersecurity analysis and delivery, in addition to knowledge of IT security best practice and solutions.
- Strong knowledge of incident response methodologies, tools, and industry frameworks (e.g., NIST CSF, MITRE ATT&CK).
- Knowledge of security frameworks and standards such as ISO27001, NIST, GDPR.
- Experience in the selection and systematic application of appropriate indicators/metrics to evaluate and measure information security management program effectiveness.
- Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
