Job Summary

The Administration Officer will provide front-line administrative and support services to inpatient departments within the Mental Health Administration Team at NSW Health. This role involves data entry, collating admission/discharge and legal paperwork, answering ward phone, admitting and discharging patients, and liaising with other AO2 mental health staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to inpatient departments, including data entry and collation of paperwork
  • Answer ward phone and respond to inquiries
  • Admit and discharge patients from hospital systems
  • Liaise with other AO2 mental health staff to ensure smooth operations
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, medical, allied health, and administration teams

Requirements

  • Proven ability to interact successfully with people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills in a customer service environment
  • Highly developed ability to plan, prioritize, and organize work activities to achieve work outcomes within deadlines
  • Demonstrated attention to detail with a high level of accuracy when working with computer systems and processes
  • Effective communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of electronic systems and computer software to achieve job outcomes
  • Proven ability to work independently and as a team member to achieve quality service outcomes
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities and processes
